Autumn Matara Wedding Gloucestershire
I photographed Dave & Rosie’s cute wedding at The Matara near Tetbury, Gloucestershire. They married last October on a beautifully sunny autumn day. Rosie got ready in the beautiful house on the property. She had all her bridesmaids around her for hair and make up. I especially loved watching one of her bridesmaid feed her chocolate orange segments while she was having her hair done – I mean what a friend.
The Matara is such a special venue because its quirky and different. The ceremony is outside around a large pond with fish in it. But its partly covered and surrounded beautiful pillars and flowers. You can hear the water in the pond. Its very tranquil.
It was so special to watch these 2 get married. I will never forget the register forgetting to ask them to exchange rings. But everyone laughed and the ceremony ended up being as quirky as the venue.
After the wedding all the guests headed to the front of the house for drinks, brownies and photographs. This area is on the edge of the big lawn area and the edge of the woods – its a pretty special spot.
The day flew and it was soon time for food, speeches and lots of dancing. It was so much fun to capture this wedding. I loved that Rosie made the buttonholes and their wedding cake was so personal to them. This wedding had lots of lovely DIY touches that were hand made by either the couple or their friends and family.
It was such a wonderful day to capture and one that I will think about so fondly for a very long time.
